Laurie Hailey lives in Walnut Creek, California and part time in The Village of Oxford,
New York. She taught English in Pittsburg, California for 25 years. Laurie co-authored
Love’s Meditation with Mary Eichbauer, Johanna Ely, and Deborah Bachels Schmidt,
published by Random Lane, 2023. She has been recognized with awards at the Ina
Coolbrith Poets Dinner and The Coolbrith Circle Contest and has been a featured poet on
Sacred Grounds. Laurie is currently working on a book of poetry which chronicles her
journey of living with her husband, Mark, who has been diagnosed with Lewy Body
Dementia.

Born in New York City, Mary Eichbauer makes her home in Benicia. She holds a B.S.
from Caltech and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from UCLA in Comparative Literature. Her first
book of poetry, After the Opera, was published by Random Lane Press in 2020. Her new
book, Recipe for a Funeral, came out from Finishing Line Press in 2026.

Johanna Ely has a number of books, including Postcards from a Dream (Blue Light Press,
2020) and What Still Matters, (Last Laugh Productions. She has been published in
numerous anthologies. Johanna served as the sixth poet Laureate of Benicia, California.
